Just another trip to Urbana...

So as usual, Tasha and I plan to take a concert road trip to The Canopy Club in Urbana, I'LL for a Last Fast Action show. Now any of you that know my luck with trips to Urbana means certain troubles are ahead. Let's take a look at the day:

10 a.m.: Matt emails everyone from work stating some problems and to review your stuff and let him know. So this means checking the website, checking my systems, and giving him a call. I inform him he can do anything he needs as I will be leaving town. To where he asks? Urbana - Didn't something go wrong? Of course they did so this means a road trip!

Needless to say, my systems were alright and Matt fixed everything as he always does. The drive was cold, long, rainy, snowy, slow, and slippery. Yes, slippery. As was the icy walk three blocks from the club to Jimmy John's. Out of seven of us, I was the only one fortunate enough to fall. No knees were hurt. I've learned the art of falling on my side when given the option of falling or dislocating my knee.

Dinner was typical fare with the band. Lots of crude jokes, funny stories, and unfortunately, fond memories of the sandwich shop we were at. Let's just leave it at Tommy and a callus.

Walked back, or should I say slid back (without falling), and now we're in the hall at the merch table listening to Company of Thieves. State and Madison was up first, and Snowsera is up next. LFA headlines, somewhere around midnight. Should be good if I can stay awake.

Probably not going to drive back. Well, I don't want to, but we'll see how the roads are. Might get a room. Otherwise it's RedBull and coffee all the way home...

So Long, Goodnight...

Starbucks to the Rescue

It's sad when you know the regulars at Starbucks.

Tasha and I went out and took some pictures in the snow, as its still butt cold. But then to warm up, and catch up on grading, we hit Starbucks at Barns & Nobles. It's not uncommon for us to unpack Tasha's school stuff and take over a small corner of the cafe.

I had a pumpkin spice latte. Yum :)

The picture kinda sums up our fun...drinks, grading, and making fun of the community college kids there studying like it matters. There was even an education major sitting next to us. We thought about giving her a taste of what she's getting into, but she seemed too young to experience this.

Black & Tan - Not just for the bar

MMmmmm....ice cream. This was tonight's guilty pleasure. Oh, and then followed by a stout.

Yes, Ben & Jerry's made an ice cream with beer. Well, at least beer flavor. Stout ice cream with a swirl of dark chocolate. Two of my favorite things *drool*

Here's a diagram for the technical folks:

MySpace and Contribute v4.0

,,

I've never been a blogger, let alone a Myspacer, or LiveJournaler, or a, a...person who shares everyday observations, but I'm going to try.

First off, check out Last Fast Action's Myspace.  Augie from LFA/The Dog and Everything wanted a more elaborate, stand alone MySpace. No thanks to Tom, but thanks to the Plain White Ts along with 400 lines of CSS, I've mastered the art of MySpace manipulation. Good times.

As for Contribute v4.0, I'm currently making this post with the new blog features. It allows me to make changes with a full WYSIWYG editor, spell check, and image tools.  I'm also evaluating it for the new version to see if we should get it at Concordia. Just when I got everyone on v3.11, now I have to go around and install everyone with 4. *sigh*

But I'm off to bed now. Cool tools that Macromedia/Adobe make. Now to see if they'll stick.
